I have not got a fill and won't get one for another 2 1/2 weeks. I am hungry most of the time but not caving in, trying to stay on my diet and measure out everything and only eat what I am suppose to eat. Have been at the same wt. now for 3 days. Do you think I'm eating too much or is my body think I'm staving myself and shut down it's metabolism. I'm walking a mile a day to get exercise. Any suggestions.

  Heaviest wt. 235- surgery wt-203

(Fallen trying to get back on)      Current wt= 215.

You're still healing. A lot of people don't lose weight during this time, and in fact, gain weight, even. Be patient with yourself. It sounds like you're doing the right things, Betty.

3 days isn't really very long- give it a little time and focus on healing.

You had your surgery 1 1/2 weeks ago?

I wasn't allowed to eat for 3 weeks (each surgeon is different) and I wasn't even considered for a fill until 6-8 weeks out.

Be sure to follow the post-op guidelines.  You'll lose weight.  But I'll be honest, I am really surprised you're eating already and already seem to have a date for a fill.

Is it just me or are things moving a little fast?

I'm eating pureed stuff right now and my fill will be a month from my surgery. I guess I'm probable getting worked up over nothing.

Right now you have very little in the way of restriction and are eating purees so it's all gonna slide right on thru. This is not too affectionaltely known as "bandster hell" the time before good restriction and eating mushy foods. Even after your fill it may take a couple, depending on how big the fills are, before you feel it very much. Just be patient with yourself and don't expect alot ofweight loss until you get some restriction. Good luck to you!

Bette, you will be ok. I started food the third week and my first fill on week six. When you start with the real food you will notice a change and then a bigger change when you get your first fill.

Be patient and get started on exercising more and more!

Your body is healing and transitioning and getting used to this foreign object. It is basically in shock. It could do just about anything, lose, gain, maintain. Please don't worry or stress about it. You need to focus on nutrition and healing right now. You have the tool, and a lifetime to use it. Patience is the key. Hugs, Terri
