Haven't been able to eat any type of food for a week now...

I got the surgery in March of 2011 and I have lost 125 pounds so far. I ate some meat last Saturday and I had to throw it up and I have not been able to eat anything since then. I have tried easy foods like Yogurt and Mashed Potatoes and still no luck. Sometimes I can't even keep liquids down without having to spit them back up. Is this a serious problem? Or do I just need to take it easy for a few days and stop trying out foods?

at any time you can not keep any foods down or even liquids that means you are to tight and need to get some fill taken out .

If you let it go on to much longer it can cause a slip in the band .

I would hope your doc explained all that to you before you got the surgery  , it can lead to  very serious problem if not taken care of .

HI there :o)  Im doing good .  Been gaining and losing the same 8 pounds the last three or four months I need to get a little more serious then I have been lol.

I got kinda lazy on exercise and foods I didnt touch the first yr after my surgery I am eating again

Hubby hasnt been at home much due to work so its just been me and my kid and most of the time its just me and I got lazy fixing meals I went back to the easier way of doing things.

Other then that doing pretty good . Still havent had a glass of soda, no smokes , and havent had a fast food cheeseburger since two months before my surgery so I have kept up some good habits lol.  i just need to buckle down and be as picky as I was a yr ago.

Hope things are going well with you , I still come on to read the boards I just dont post as much anymore but here and there .

glad to hear it, girl.  I am doing great.  I finally made it to my first major goal (Onderland!) so that will keep me happy for a while   I admit I have had a soda once in a great while. (hard to drink winecoolers without a little sprite!) but it is rare.  Kudos to your resistance!

Both of my offspring left the nest last month so i havent had to cook a meal everyday anymore. i am eating better because i am eting less. sometimes i have to remind myself to eat.

My DS is doing great in his first very own apartment five minutes from his job, where he got promoted to supervisor at Ross clothing store.  ( I love getting his discount when he shops with me).  My DD is having her wedding in May but she and her boyfriend got hitched by the justice of the peace last month and they are already in their own apartment five minutes from here.   Her dad and I weren't thrilled about her getting married so young but ..shrug.. she's 18 now and thinks she know it all. ::smirk::.   I am thankful they aren't planning on having children until she's out of college.  (she's able to afford it because of her dad's VA benefits he still has left from his Navy days).... oh and thank God for the change in the health care laws that lets both of them stay on my health insurance til age 26. I was afraid Molly would be excluded if she married but Blue Cross says she is still covered. whew.  That was one time my hubby was glad to be wrong.

Yes.  it's serious.  call your doctor! You may have a slip and the longer you wait, the more damage you could be doing to yourself, besides being seriously dehydrated.  Please call your doctor now.

what are you waiting for? You can't be feeling good right now, huh?  you will feel a lot worse if they have to take your tool out...or worse harm your esophagus.

I am not trying to scare you.....ok, maybe a little. You may not have any permanent damage but the longer you wait, the greater the risks.

well, have you called your doctor yet?    don't give me that "0ffice is closed" because you can reach the doctor'sanswering service.  Tell the doc what you said here and let him/her tell you how serious it is.

it will be okay....just call dammit.

It's VERY serious. My stomach twisted and made it impossible to get any solid foods down... and then it progressed and got even worse.

Your band might be in the wrong position or too tight... or it could be something more serious. Best to get checked before you get dehydrated.

Hope you get an answer and feel better soon.

Take care.

As a vet I gotta agree with the others please call your doc NOW this is not right and can cause serious damage to you and your band. There should be someone on call. You may even need to get some IV hydration, it doesn't take very long for us to get dehydrated and that just compounds the sitution. GO NOW!

I've been able to hydrate...9/10 times I can get liquids down but there have been some times where I can't. Also I have never had a significant fill, just 2CCs.
