I got the call today

My surgeons office called today to schedule my surgery for the 28Th of THIS MONTH. I thought they would give me two to three weeks notice. I have not been dieting in fact I have been eating more. When the nurse said the 28Th I panicked and told her I needed to wait until mid April.

She is now going to reschedule and let me know what my date is. I know it is normal to be scared. I have been reading these blogs for the 6 weeks or so but have never posted before.
I'm sure it is just my fear but I can't seem to remember what diet I need to be on. I think I am have  three weeks out. Can someone tell me if I'm just to have shakes now?

Different doctors have different protocols.

I did not have a pre op diet to follow.

You need to call YOUR doctors office and find out EXACTLY what they expect from you.

They may want more tests, bloodworm, etc ...and they can tell you about the pre op eating plan.

Make sure you also find put about the post op,eating schedule they want you to follow.

Find out when you will get fills and how you are supposed to eat before and after them.

Ask about vitamins and other supplements they may want you to be on. Find out if there is a local support group you can attend.

You are on your way, but there is work to be done!!
Best of,luck!

Congrats..yes it's normal to be scared. Each surgeon is different so talk to yours and find out what he /she would like you to do. My doc required me to be on a 2 week liquid diet but some doc's do not require one at all. Hope all goes well,  Keep us posted on how you are doing.

I had 2 weeks of a resticted high protein diet also, had to have a upper gastric scope done, pre-op physical.  Call your doctors office to find out the pre and post diet for surgery. You will be a little out of it after surgery so it's best to know ahead so you can get all the things you need prior to surgery.
It is so normal to be afraid. I was very afraid. Now I am a week and a half past surgery and doing fine. I have little to no appetite and can be satisfied with a 1/2 cup of food. Congratulations!!! You are soon to be on the losing bench with the rest of us!!!!! Final a time when being a loser is a good thing!!!!!!!!! LOL.

I agree, call your Dr's office or visit their web site if they have one. My Dr did not have me do any special pre op diet, others do the liver shrinking one. Good luck, continue to post!!!
