As the days are getting longer, I love to get out and walk in the evening.
I don't let myself skip 2 days in a row, so I get in 3 or more walks per week.
Start with 20 minutes and work up .... I listen to audio books and will walk for over an hour most days, just to keep listening.
You have to just do it .... You can find 20 minutes a day to improve your health.

When I first started to work out I weight 285lbs and I wasn't losing at all. I was intimidated by the gym and the people there. I wanted to give up many times. I also work too. When I first started to workout I was working about 60+ hours a week. Now I have a new job and I only have to work maybe 45-50 hours a week. I made time....after work (I'm not a working out a 4am).
I say it's very easy to come up with excuses not to exercise. So I told myself that I would not skip a workout no matter what for the first 8 weeks. I didn't either. Doctors appointments were scheduled around my workouts, I was invited to go out and do things after work and I said no. There were all kinds of things. I stuck to it. I lost 70+ lbs from October to May, just by adding exercise. I exercise 60-90 minutes a day, 6 days a week. I actually was eating a bit healthier but I was eating more...I needed to add a before workout snack. When the weight loss slowed, which happens even with exercise I started to make other goals. I wanted to run....so I started to run. Then I decided I wanted to run a 5K. So I trained for a 5K. I just make goals to so I am always working towards something.
I always go on the elliptical or the treadmill. Theses things bore people but I'm on there for 45-50 minutes a day and they have TVs on them or you can bring your iPod. I also do strength training. A mistake lots of women make is not incorporating this aspect into their workout. It's a very important part of a workout. Strengthening your muscles helps prevent injuries but also helps speed up your metabolism (which is good I never gain weight) and also makes your bones stronger. Then I stretch. Stretching is my favorite part. I might join a yoga class soon!!!
Besides losing weight my doctor told me that my working out was the single biggest reason my cholesterol went down to normal and my good cholesterol went wayyyy up. I also feel good. I don't get tired like I used to at work. I never need a caffine pick me up. I have more energy, more pep to my step!!!! I actually feel healthy. "knock on wood" I also only have been sick one time in three years....so I am healthier. I used to get sick once a year. I sleep better. All of this makes me a happier person. There are so many reasons to workout. And now that I have doing it I wonder why resisted for so long??? And why so many people out right refuse to workout.

Crystal gave you really good advice.
My body type it dont matter how well I eat , how little I eat if I dont exercise I just dont lose weight, I have always been that way and its frustrating but nothing I can do about it but exercise.
One thing you need to find a exercise that you enjoy and want to do . Till that happens it dont matter how much you tell yourself you need to exercise you just wont do it.
I found a Zumba class that I dearly love, and I love and respect my teacher and I dont miss a class unless something else comes up . I go to his classes two times a week and after bowling is over with it will be three times a week.
It's a hard class and there is somethings I cant do but I modify and move on he makes it fun and fresh and that is why I keep going. I even drive 30 miles just to go this one class lol .
Another thing I just added this week is taking my puppies for a walk around our park . I will see how dedicated I am to this I just started but I did enjoy it the other day.
If you dont like to exercise alone find a buddy to workout with you even if you just grab a friend and take a walk and gossip :o)
Good luck once you make that first step and get into a routine it does get easier. There are many times I dont want to go to Zumba for one reason or another but I still go and feel better after wards

I agree, you have to find something you enjoy. I found a public pool that has water aerobics and I love it. I do that right after work, I do not go home first, twice a week and one my own once on the weekend. At home on the other nights I ride a pedal machine I bout for $18.
I too am not a morning person.

Just do it, it's soooo tough to get started, but you can do it. I agree, start with a 20 minute walk, gradually increase your intensity/duration. It took me about 4 months postop to hit the gym. Now I'm there everyday, some days twice. I unfortuanatly had some regain (although I never stopped working out) and am working hard to get to my goal. 15-20 to go.
