Feeling better

Feeling better this morning.  Was able to get out of bed without too much pain.  The increase in protein seems to be helping with my energy.  I do have a question, I get this terrible pain in the middle of my abdomen when my stomach growls or I have to burp, what's that all about?

I want to thank everyone for putting up with my "belly aching" the last couple of days.  You guys have been very supportive, and I appreciate it.

I felt that for the first couple weeks too and thought it was just from the surgery site and close to where my port was. That feeling went away about week 3-4. It was just a pulling feeling, not sharp pain or anything. A nusense!

Glad you are doing better!

You still have lots of gas in you system and will for several weeks. You are probably also still drinking like you used to which is too much too fast. That puts extra air in your stomach causing you to burp even more since your opening is smaller. Continue to practice sip, sip, sip. I still burp and am struggling to get the 64 ounces with the sipping. Keep trying, it gets better!

With the protein, you need to read labels. Your drink may only have 15g of protein, look for 20-30g. Good ones are Bariatric Advantage and Fortress Super Whet Protein (Walmart).

Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions. I have found the support great here!

I went to GNC and bought a protein mix called Iso-100.  Two scoops of that is about 50 grams of protein.  I usually mix that with 10oz of Special K shake or High Protein Boost.  Then I drink about 2-4 oz at a time throughout the day.  That gives me about 60grams of protein a day.
I actually called my doctor yesterday afternoon about the pain and he said that he put 3cc of fluid in my band during surgery, so that is probably why I'm having so much pain.  This morning is soooo much better.  I hope you get to feeling better too.  Let me know how it goes.

Not sure if you have a Costco but they have a protein shake that has 30 grams of protein and it's not a powder. Chocolate tastes pretty good especially if it's super cold. I use it for in between meals.
