I know this question has been asked before but I haven't been able to find a real answer.  it always seems to go off on why we shouldn't drink instead of answering this direct question.

My question is:

If I wanted to have a vodka/cranberry or similar drink, how long should I wait after surgery to have a drink?

My 1st drink was about 5 wks after surgery... However i think because id been on liquids for SO long, the one drink hit me pretty quick and hard... Your experience might be different... Good luck

I think I waited 3 months, however my surgeon suggests not to drink any

I had a drink or two about 3 weeks out.
However... I have not been drinking since the beginning of the year (didn't consider myself a big drinker to begin with, but apparently it still makes a difference) and I have lost about 8 lbs without doing anything differently.  Something to think about when you hit a plateau!
