4 days down

I went back to work today (against my best judgement).  I went home at 12:30.  Someone at my work, that had lapband done, said that I wasn't eating enough protein.  So on the way home I stopped at GNC and got some high protein mix.  I increased my protein from 14gms to 55gms.  Increasing my protein did seem to help pick me up a little and I walked about 30 mins this evening.  I went on youtube and looked at some posts and saw where everyone seems to be doing so much better at this point.  I think maybe my post op expectations were just too high.  I know I will eventually feel like myself, but getting through this phase is horrible.

Keep your protein up as close to 60 as you can and you will feel great. It took a couple weeks to get settled into the routine. But you will.

I worked half days when I went back to work for five days. Remember you went through surgery and you body does need the six weeks to recover.

I will hit week six tomorrow and can't wait to really dive into the exercise routine that I want. Had to wait the full six weeks according to my dr as I swim, play golf and would like to get back into tennis as soon as I can.

Keep up the good work. You will see progress.

I too am a newbie. 2 weeks tomorrow and the first full week I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. By day 7-8 I was able to move and function at about 90% and I have 4 kids to take care of. As for the protein, I have vanilla and chocolate protein powder, but what's really saving my life is the Costco premier protein premade drinks. They are 30 grams of protein per drink and come in chocolate and vanilla. If you need recipe ideas let me know, I was struggling for different flavors and found a few that were pretty yummy. Good luck and you will feel better. I had my first weigh in today and I'm down 15 lbs. in 2 weeks!
