I am so sick of myself at this point

Sounds a lot like when my band slipped.  I was completely unfilled and still having drainage issues and sore throat.  I tried the nettipot and medications.  My surgeon was out of the country.  When I was able to see him, he immediatley said I had a slip and the next day I was in surgery.  But, maybe you're still just swollen!  This was over the course of weeks.

How did he know you had a slip immediately? Did you just get your band repositioned in surgery?

I just left another message....waiting on a call back.

I am fortunate to have had one of the best surgeons in the country.  (Unfortunately, he has since moved back to Isreal.)  After I explained the symptoms, he asked, "And your band's empty?  You have a slip."  The fluoro proved him correct.  All symptoms dissapeared after the repositioning.  Honestly,  I think it began as sinus issues, but I ignored the signs and let it escalate into a slip.

What do you think caused the slip? Were you also bringing up food or mucous when you had the sinus issues that would cause it to slip?

It was a combination of things.  Initially, the drainage would make me tight.  I couldn't keep anything down.  Unfill.  I felt better.  Fill.  More drainage and the reflux started at night.  This was for about two months.  That's when I should have gone in, but I was losing weight and thought there were other issues.  Eating too late or sinuses.  I had to get an emergency unfill one evening from his NP.  It wasn't until I almost passed out in the shower that I finally wised up and went in to see him.

Well I called the doctor so waiting to hear back.  I tend not to wait...maybe a week maybe 2 so if something is wrong then I'm on top of it!

You experience sounds like it was seriois :(  that's what I am hoping to avoid being proactive about my symptoms.

Thanks for sharing your info.

I would say yes, yes, and yes. Post-nasal drop can cause inflammation, plus it can be thick. Try an experiment (it's kind of gross), but spit a big gop of the drainage into a colander with holes in it and see just how long it takes to go through.
Have you tried sudafed? Or using a neti pot?

If you think it is bad sinus drip, try Mucinex and drink lots of water. Mucinex now comes in a liquid. Take the plain one that is for mucus and not congestion. That is what my doctor has me take when my allergy medicine isn't enough. Especially for seasonal issues. It also won't hurt your blood pressure if you take the plain one. It is supposed to thin the mucus out.

Talk to your pharmacist to make sure you take the right one.

Hope you feel better soon!

Dev - I can't get it up! I think you may be onto something with the sudafed to dry things up.  I am definitely going to start that when I get home today.

I have the nasal thing from neil-med as well so it wouldnt hurt to do that either.

Thanks for the suggestions.
