I was wondering if anyone has managed to do this and if so how did you know?? how did you feel??

Can you please clarify? Do you mean the lap band pouch enlarged over the band? Pouch dilation?

This is very common. There is a link below for the failed band group on FB, you can chat with a lot of bandsters there that have had the same problem.
