It will improve daily but don't pu**** Perhaps think about taking 2 extra days. Each person is different and there is no way to know in advance. Part of the problem you are having is the surgical gas they use to see better during surgery. Walking as much as possible will help it to dissipate quicker. In the meantime use your pain meds, get out that heating pad, and walk.
I wandered around our yard the first couple of days then added 5 minute walks in the neighborhood, and within less than a week was walking 20+ minutes with the dog, sometimes twice a day. I had quite a lot of pain but by using the pain meds I was able to increase my activity which in turn helped me get rid of the gas. I also napped.
Good luck and welcome to the losers bench. I'll bet this is the first time being called a loser was a good thing!
