Band adjustment under flouro today
Hi all. I've been staying around 211-214 now for about a year now. Been falling into some of my old habits and occasionally spitting up food so I thought' "Maybe my band is too tight." To my surprise, my PA told me that she could tell by looking at my band and by how fast the barium was running through it, that she felt my band could use a little more saline in it so she gave me 1cc. In her opinion, she thinks that I am eating too fast, maybe not chewing well enough, or taking too big of bites or all the above. It has been a year and a half since I had my band placed and I still haven't gotten the swing of things yet. Now I am paranoid that I will be too tight. I have lost 50 lbs. so I know my band is working, but I still have another 50 lbs. to go until I reach my goal weight. My question is, how will I know if this recent fill is too much? So confused about how to read my band signals.

Also are you doing YOUR PART? it's a 50/50 deal, with exercise eating right and drinking water, NOT to get the band so tight it damages your body.
I hope you know you are heading for deep trouble, why do you think there are so many band slips? Some fill givers do NOT know what they are doing, are you in a center of excellence? Were you honest in telling your fill giver you were spitting up BEFORE YOUR FILL? I wish you luck.
I'm thinking that you are right, however, she did want me to wait a few days and concentrate on how I'm eating my food. She said if I am still spitting up food, to come back in and they would take a little out. I felt the same way. Why would she add more if I'm already having issues. But after watching things go down, she seemed to think it was just the way I am eating. I know this isn't an "exact science" but that's why I feel so lost. This morning I am able to drink my coffee but there is a significant difference than before. I have to take smaller sips and I can feel it going down more. I guess the real test will be when I try to eat dense protien. I am going to stick to softer foods today only because I may have a little swelling from my fill, but will start solids tomorrow and see how I do. I may end up going back Monday for an unfill. Thanks for the feedback. You are always so helpful!

As soon as my Surgeon's office opens today, I will be calling them to get in for an unfill. Made it through the weekend, but have had acid reflux on and off all day, everyday. I should have followed my instincts when the PA was so persistant about giving me a fill in the first place. At least I now know what it feels like to be too tight. so I did learn something by this.
