Yeah that's a pretty accurate description, lol. You will notice as you read the band forums that a lot of bandsters have "inconsistancies" with their band. It can change due to TOM, weather/humidity..........or at times for no descernable reason.

Restriction hum?........could mean different things to different people, everyone is different and has different needs.

For me proper restriction means I can eat maybe 2-3 ounces of meat, some veggies and a little carb within 20-30 min., able to eat all foods, feel satiated on that and can go about 4 hours before another meal...... also when I have proper restriction I am not hungry much if at all.

I have been that level and was able to lose 1-2 pounds a week average, had to have a unfill and are hoping to get to that level again soon. The only drawback for me is that I get mild heartburn at that level only when I drink water........strange, not at night, not with food just drinking water....

I gained 27 pounds from my lowest so I am working on getting back there.

I just hate being hungry and for me the band helps with that at the proper level..........of course even at the right level I can gain weight......eating around the band isn't hard for me, I am an emotional eater but did real good till the unfill...........but back on the band wagon again.....

I can't even do 1200 calories a day, under 50 grams total carbs and lose weight , have been doing that since a slight fill in January and only have lost a pound....I need the band to lose, hopefully still can now that I turned 50 lol.....

Thanks, Michele.  I know it is different for everyone.  I don't like that part of it.  I want this to be black and white, but it just isn't.  I appreciate your description.  That is what I am aiming for as well.  It would be amazing if the band could actually calm my desire to eat at all.  That would be such an added bonus.  I don't want to be too tight.  I think it's such a benefit that we can always go back for an unfill if it starts feeling too tight.  I had reflux at the end of my time with the other band.  I didn't realize how frustrating that was until I didn't have it anymore. It was a welcomed relief.  I don't want to return to that, so I hope I can gain restriction without that side effect.  It's strange that yours happens only with water.  Best of luck to you in losing those 27lbs!
