Tomorrow is my surgery. I am excited and scared!!!!!! I have not told anyone at my work as I didn't want to hear all their unsolicatated comments. How do you handle all the nay sayers? People have no mufflers on their mouths, and say some very hurtful things. I don't know how I'm going to handle going back to work and when they ask, "Is that all your having to eat" Any Suggestions????

So excited for you!!!!!  I wouldn't worry too much about what will happen at work........they will only notice you getting thinner and if you are like me my coworkers had seen me on a diet more times than I would like so a new diet would be nothing new ........

I just used to push my food around on the plate or say I ate half of my sandwich or lunch for a snack earlier if asked....or say you are eating 6 smaller meals a day.......I really don't think people really watch us as much we think they do. although there are those that are nosier than normal lol.......

When the weight comes rolling off and they want to know what you are doing (and they will ask) all you have to say is that you are dieting and exercising which won't be a lie.....

Besides when the time comes you are an intelligent woman and will know what to do and say.

Making room for you on the losers bench.......... hehe the one time I didn't mind being called a loser.....

My surgery is tomorrow and everyone at my office knows.  I wasn't sure if I was going to let them know , but I figured they would find out at some point.  All my co-employees are very supportive.  You might find that they can be a support system for you, and be proud that you are taking control over your life.  Good luck with your surgery.  I hope all goes well.  Keep us updated.

When people ask me why I'm not eating more, I just tell them I'm not very hungry.  No one ever pushes the issue; they always just let it go after that.

Good luck on your surgery!  Looking forward to your updates!

I told family and close friends prior so that I had some support. Now people are noticing and if they ask how I tell them. Every single person has been very supportive! They are happy that you made the decision to take control.

Good luck, you will be fine. Keep us posted.

People that are not true friends have no right to know. I still have naysayers and some are family. If people ask its a decision you carefully weighed out. Remember you're the one that is educated. If people want to know seriously educate them be kind and leave it. People will do two things/ support you or not. You move forward any way and continue with people that support you. The others do not have the right into that part of your life. They have to earn it. However people will see your decision. You'll question it too but that's because you're normal. Saying a prayer for you. Can't wait to hear how you're doing. Don't forget to do some walking after you are able to move around. One day at a time!

Thanks for all the support. I'm a little nervous and excited. My highest weight was 235 and now down to 203. So I can't wait to join the LOSER group.
