I hope to lose more than 100+ when I am finished. Is it possible to still look good without surgery for tummy tucks or and other surgeries to the skin? Just wondering if anyone's skin "snapped" back.

I think Bette looks really good and I believe she lost over 200 lbs. My skin is pretty good, considering my age and genetics. I had a TT before WLS. I have noticed the longer time goes on my skin got firmer.  I guess that's why they say you should wait at least a year after WLS to have work done. I want to get my arms lipo'd, they've always been big and I have a hard time buying clothes.
Exercise and genetics is important, so it may be a "toss" up. I hope your skin is one of the lucky ones!!!!

I look like a complete train wreck and that is not at all any exaggeration.  The only thing that doesn't need some help is my wrists and ankles!

I hate admitting this but I had much more confidence and felt much sexier when I was heaver and at least filled out and firm.  Now I am just loose skin and fat in some places that is even hard to cover in clothes! I can't even bare to wear even short sleeves - if It doesn't go to my elbow i'm very self conscious.  A pair of shorts - NO WAY!  When trying on clothes in a  dressing room I turn around because I don't want to see all that I see in the mirror.

Look up shar pei in the dictionary and you'll see my photo! In clothes I look cute and curvy and naked it's beyond scary! I feel absolutely disgusting and embarrassed.   I tried to "accept" myself but that's not working!  I just get angry and and pray for the day plastics are an option!

Just like everything with WLS - this too is different for everyone!

Thanks Cathy!  Sorry to so sound harsh but this has been one of my recent struggles in the past 6 months...body image issues.  I'm not a goal so I can't even pursue the plastics until I get there and am stable...the journey continues!

Best,
Nikki

I have lost 150 lbs and I have lots of droopy skin.  So many people are very worried about this but after you lose all that weight you already look wayyyy better than you did before.  And you will really feel better.  Maybe some people feel differently than I do but I really don't mind too much about the saggy  skin.  That doesn't mean if I won the lottery I wouldn't go and have plastic surgery but in the mean time I'm too busy enjoying my life to worry about it...and I'm sure you will too.

I've lost 220 lbs, and while my skin has not "snapped" back, I really don't look too bad for what I've lost and my age (over 50).

Actually, in clothes I think I look OK.  Others tell me that too...so it's just not vanity speaking.

I'll share that I do a lot of toning exercises.. such as Yoga and Pilates and I lift weights and do abdominal exercises.. so that may have something to do with my results.  I've also never smoked very much, and was lucky enough to inherit good genes, both of which help.

My worst problem is my batwings.  I may eventually get them fixed, but am in no hurry. In the meantime, I try and chose shirts that camoflauge.  I may also eventually get a TT.. but I'm a bit afraid of that.

I'll try and insert a pic.. but OH and I don't play well together sometimes.  :)
