Anyone know if there are issues getting an mri wth the band. I best believe it is all plastic.

Yes, the band is MRI safe, I have had a few since being banded without any issues. The amount of metal with the band is very little so it doesn't interfere with the MRI machine.

It's not ALL Plastic, but it is not an issue with MRI, either. You can proceed without worry!

I asked my surgeon's office about this..and yes, its ok. I was advised that as MRIs get more and more powerful there might come a day when it would need to be addressed. It sounds like the MRI place would have to be able to adjust down the settings.

My MRI techs were more concerned about the metals in my tattoo ink than in my band!

The metal parts of the lapband is titanium and titanium isn't magnetic..........I have a titanium plate in my arm and have never had a problem and that is about 4 inches long.

No worries there.....
