Question for you regarding calories after 2+ years w/ band

Ok, I still remember all my rules etc, but I have my band somewhat loose since it kept getting too tight due to my meds and vasculitis.

So, about how many calories should I be eating?  I know to stay away from carbs and for the most part I still do (I didn't for a long, long time).  But I'm confused about how many calories to be eating a day?  I still have 100 to lose. What does YOUR typical day look like now?  I used to eat about 900 calories, but I just can't do that anymore physically or mentally.  Any suggestions would be awesome.  Thanks!

I try to keep my calories around 1200 or less per day.  Some days more, some days less.  How much physical activity are you able to do right now.  I know the drugs you are on are causing you to gain and maintain weight too.  That really is a shame.  I would shoot for 1000 to 1200 calories a day and walk as much as possible.  Good Luck to you.

 Thanks, Theresa,

I'm able to exercise more now, but I don't work due to my illness, so I don't move as much as a regular person.  I'm trying very hard to keep it under 1200.  I have no idea why I have to snack all the time.  I was so good for so long and then food became important again.  Thanks for the calorie info.  I have been trying really hard to keep it right around there on livestrong :)

It is by no means easy, when I am not at work, it is so hard not to snack.  On the weekends working around the house I find myself constantly going to the fridge.  I just try to make sure I keep lots of sugar free popsicles, grapefruits and avocodos on hand.  I love to eat.  LOL!

LOL, yep, I would imagine all of us love to eat ;)  I like the sf popsicle idea.  Thank you. I forgot the little things I had around when I was  in my losing mode.  I so have been trying to get back there :)  I have bariatric advantage shake mix, sf almond milk, pb2 and lots of chicken thighs and ground turkey on hand.  I'm in it to win it.  I just hope I don't mentally fall again.  Argh, naturally thin people have no clue do they???

I understande what you mean when you say food became important again. I am having a really hard time. I have gained about 25 lbs and never did reach goal. I have never really got past "eating my emotions"

Hey YOU, great to see you, your pic is awesome!!! How have you been??
I've never done calories, so I'm no help there. My Dr's rules were 4 oz by weight each meal, protein first then veggie/fruit. Now, I just eyeball it. Someone said a deck of cards is about 4 oz, but I don't know. Sorry!
Keep coming back to see us, we miss you!

HI SWEETIE!!!  I miss you!!!  I'm doing ok.  Same as always LOL
I remember the 4oz thing, too, but I'm much hungrier as I had to take out a lot of fluid.  WIth my illness I was just always sooooo tight no matter what.   So I'm trying really hard to keep under 1200 calories and eat mostly protein.  I'm really good and don't eat pastas or breads.  I don't miss it either :)

sigh....the battle of the bulge and the battle of vasculitis continues!  I may not win, but I won't go down without a fight LOL

So good to see you here again!!! You are missed for sure! I pretty much have to keep mine below 1000 to lose anything but I'm not hardly active at all. I forget do you have lung issues also because if you do my pulmonary doc put me on a brand new med that completely takes your appetitte away. It's called daliresp and it's one tiny little pill once a day and hunger is gone! I've lost almost 20 lbs in the last 3 mos. just from that.
As far as foods I try to keep some kind of solid protein cooked and handy but I need  a lub to help get them down and usually I use my special sweet and sour sauce which is equal parts ketchup, vinegar and splenda. If it's too thick for you just add some water. Wish you the best and hang in there!

wow, good job, Lady!!!!  I've never heard of that pill.  I do not have lung problems now.  When wegener's first attacked it went for my lungs, but after 7 years they are pretty good.  I still have a lot of sinus and skelomusuclar damage that never seems to want to go away.

I wish I could work because that would keep my mind off of food.  I think when I see my doc next I will inquire about this pill.  I'll try ANYTHING to get this fat off.  LOL  I was telling Melly that I would gladly deal with vasculitis, but obesity?????  THAT is the hard part LOL

I miss you guys!
