Am I the only one who doesn't take vitamins?
I have always taken supplements............and still do since getting the band but not because I have the band.
I have always been a fan of natural medicine and take B6 which lessens my PMDD symptoms and Magnesium to prevent migraines and keep me "regular". Right now I am taking other supplements and herbs to build my immune system.

Interesting. I have PMDD as well, is there a certain brand or dosage of the B6 you recommend? Is there anything else you take to lesson the symptoms of the PMDD, some months I about lose my mind. Mine is classic, about 4-5 days a month right before AF. It has gotten a little better since I started a high dose regimine of Vitamin D and iron but it could be better.
Mine is about 2 weeks before starting, I swear I go crazy........once I start I am ok.
I would start with 100 mg once a day....I just buy the Spring Valley 100mg B6 (only b6 no other b's), I get mine at Walmart.
It might take about a full cycle to notice a difference, if I miss just one day forget it.......of course now I am premenopausal so it gets less predictable LOL.
I also try to eliminate a lot carbs at least the two weeks before or when I start getting breast tenderness.....but nothing ever worked like the B6, I think that is the most important. In fact some months I can't even feel like I am going to start.
Good luck, I hope it works for you.......my gyn wanted to put me on Lexapro or other medication but the B6 makes it bearable, it is cheaper and no side effects.
If the 100mg doesn't work after one cycle you can try 200mg but wouldn't go over that......it most likely will at least make it more tolerable.

It is one of my Dr's recommendations! I used to use chew-ables, but since I've never had any problems with swallowing them, I switched after the first year. I did stop for a couple of months, more out of laziness. But I personally "feel" better when I take them.
Since your Dr doesn't care and you can get all your vitamins from food, you are doing great!!

A absolutely am the WORST at taking pills. Chewable or not. This has caused my last bloodwork to come back with an issue. My vitamin D was a 19 and it is supposed to be 30 or over. I am now on 50000units of prescription Vit. D, once a week for 8 weeks. I would say as long as your bloodwork is good, you may just need to do calcium.
I take a multi daily and calcium.
Since weight loss, I've had some bone density loss and now have osteopenia, so I'm very strict about taking my calcium. I don't want hip fractures like my tiny Mom had.
I also take glucosamine to help with my joints.
If your annual bloodwork is ok w/o taking vits, you keep on doing what you're doing.
