Well, I think I have heard a million times that the LapBand is a tool, but even tools break down eventually. Sometimes you replace them when the exact same make and model, and sometimes you replace them with a tool that does the same job in a different way.
Jean, you are a LapBand success story, because you used he tool to the best of your ability until it could no longer be used. Now you are going to try a new tool, and I look forward to reading your experiences with that.

Well said! I'm not around much Bexie, but I did follow your experience. How are you doing now?

Banded 03/22/06  276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)

Sleeved 07/11/2013  228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)

I am doing ok.  I still feel a horrible saddness sometimes and I throw a little pity party for myself, but most of the time I am fine.  My weight is inching back up, and my exercise routine hasn't happened yet, but, Like Dory in Finding Nemo,  I just keep swimming.

I agree, well said Bexie. Jean I have always been glad to get your support and knowledge. Just because your band has failed that is just more information for you to share. I think you have always shared in an informative,no scare tactic kind of way. I for one grealty apperciate it. I hope you will continue with the newsletter. Good luck and please keep us informed.

 HI Jean,
I go away for a bit to tend to family issues, start a job and break an arm and ....oh my.  Hang in there.  You are very successful with your band and with your writing.... you hit a hiccup...a problem bigger than you wanted or thought you would have to tackle...but you will get through this and find a new way to continue your success.  YOU ARE MY STAR!!! :) I am very proud of you and anytime some of the blabbering Betsy's get to loud with their negatives or "I told you so"....behave like them and act like a two year old and go LUR LUR LUR LUR LUR LUR LUR a bit louder so you can no longer hear them. :)  The nice things about people like that....they only know so many things to say and in time get bored and bother someone else...  lol send them to me to bother....  their opinion about me or my choices means absolutely nothing to me.   HUGS, love ya girl :)  Kiss the pooches for me :)

just keep swimming,

I tell all the students in the school I did it while alligator wrestling ( gator flipped his tail and threw me down on my elbow and Crack!). Truth is it got smashed on the hard edge of a table in my classroom.   It's getting better :) after everything I went through with my knee surgeries I have NO problem requesting big boy drugs :) lucky me its my left arm... Oh wait I'm left handed lol oh well... Doing first grade penmanship with my right so thankful for that :)
