Going through a pitfall
I had WLS 12/19 I lost 23 lbs on liquid diet... I only had 1 fill and I booked my next fill. I know getting to the green zone takes a little time, I don't know if I'm expecting too much but after surgery I thought I'd find my green zone quicker and lose more weight faster. I was even considering going back for the sleeve. Can anyone please share their lap band experiences with fills with me, maybe all I need is a little encouragement and patience. I'd rather not go through another procedure if it's unnecessary and I don't want to be disappointed another year by summer.
The key word with the band is "patience" it is a long slow process. I didn't have much in the way of restriction until my 5 the fill. My surgeon did 1 cc fills each time which were amonth apart so it was 5 mos before I really felt anything. Personally I feel it's better to go slowly so you don;t end up etting too tight because then you start having big problems. Just hang in there and take it nice and slow. While you are waiting practice you bandster eating.

I agree, it takes patience. I had my surgery on Nov 10, 2011. I have 5 cc's now, and it is too much. I have to have some removed. You will get there. Michelle.

I got my lapband a year ago. At three months, I was only 3cc, but was too tight and had 1cc removed. The surgeon then just added it back.5 at the time which slowed me down a lot. This January I got to 6cc and it might be too tight. I lost a lot of weight in the first three months, but for the last few months, I have just been up and down 3 or 4 pounds. I know it is bacause I am eating sweets. I eat healthy meals, but crave chocolate fiercely and I give in. This is what I am trying to focus on now. My doctor keeps telling me it takes about 3 years to get there. I now have to make sure I keep going down even if it is slowly.
I am at year on 3/18/12. I have too struggled with losing what I feel is too little weight too slowly. You are not alone. But, it seems to me that you are doing great! I have lost 55 lbs (as of right now). I remember that I was at the same weight 11 years and it takes time to lose the weight. Have some patience and keep doing the right things--you will lose the weight.
