I'm not quite sure what to tell you, I was and am getting similar pain, have gone thru tests and the pain just keeps up when I eat. So I barely eat and live on slider foods since "real" food won't go down. No my band is not overfilled, it's empty. Please keep on your doctors to find out what is wrong and how to fix it. I wish you the best of luck.

I just starting have pains, after I ate. Really bad gas type pains. My UGI showed a small hiatal hernia. Not saying that is what you have. But maybe??? I hope it gets better. I take Prevacid to help with mine.

There are quite a few of us that have had problems with our bands tightening after several years causing alot of pain. Myself I finally had my band completely emptied because it just got tighter and tighter. Keep pusing until they give you a reasonable answer don't let them brush you off. Go to the Failed Lap Band board, you'll need to join, there is a ton of info about band problems. Lots of folks have done well for a few years before the issues start.

I've been going through a similar thing, I got diagnosed with severe gastritis after a million dfiferent tests. The medication is helping but my band it completely empty and I'm getting stuck. My surgeon has reassured me the band is in place but I don't know... I want to get it out.

Your stomach is under the left side rib cage, so if you're having pain there, it's most likely something to do with your stomach.  I also had abdominal pain while banded. I developed ulcers, gastritis and a hiatal hernia from the band and still have these issues after band removal.

I'm also on dexilant for GERD and the other aforementioned issues.
The lapband is damaging... and it's most likely not a good idea to keep the band.  A hiatal hernia can cause a lot of pain. I had tremendous pain last night, myself. I feel for you!
