I need to drop 20 lbs.

I have put on about 20 lbs from my lowest weight and I cannot seem to get it off.  I need to get a fill, but my NP thinks I just need to control my eating.  I thought that was what the band was supposed to do.  I know a lot of it is in my mind.  If I would go back to basics of eating good solid protein first it would be a lot easier.  i had pork chops cooked in the crockpot last night.  I could only eat one small one.  See eating the right foods.  But I get so stinkin tired of the protein.  Admit it....dont you?
I just want a bowl of soup of cream potatoes or heaven forbid a couple of french fries.  I know I know I know.  That is what got me here.  HELP ME!

My NUT has me on a program tha****ches the blood sugar in body. still have 3-4 ozs.pro.a meal 2 starches and only i fruit. the carbs has to be kept for me very low or I don't lose. I have been doing this for 2 wks and feel satisfied but I need to get more excercise in. I suffer chronic spine pain and take pain meds. I also take thyroid pills due to having my thyroid removed and blood pressure med. She has me with no cereal/no yogurt/no soup. The same things that you crave. Bottom line..my doctor since I had surgery over a yr ago tells me the same thing. I will probably get a fill next week to help control my food amt. Try different proteins. If you like seafood the bagged shrimp in easy and you can do so much...also salmon burgers/chicken sausage. I usually grill these things in oven fast..good luck with differnet choices...

Thanks for the response, I think I am just being a child and rebelling.  I know what to do.  I am almost 4 years out.  I know the rules, I just have not been following them.  I can eat a little more now, which is not a bad thing somedays.  It is a wonderful feeling to be able to eat.  I had reached a point where I was not able to eat properly and I was going to cause problems with my band,  I know I am good now.  So I need to put on my "Big Girl Panties" and do what I know is right.  Once the weather changes and I can get back outside, things will get better I am sure.

I do eat soups. However, I make them really thick with chunks and full of protein. That way I can stay satisfied and get my protein while enjoying my soup. If I want a different type of soup, say for lunch, I pound the protein in the morning, try to add some with lunch, pound it at dinner, and snacks are protein, too. Sometimes you just want what you want.

One tip I use when making my own soups is to add a can of fat free refried beans to thicken it and add protein. I do it for chile, taco soup, etc.

Yeah, I need to be able to get outside, too.
