Fruits and Veggies
Hey all,
How do you incorporate fruits and veggies in your diet everyday and still be "low carb" or do you only get your carbs from fruits and veggies and only count the carb content from everything else? I'd like to be lower carb and still get in my fruits and veggies because they are so good for you and so good to eat. I try to limit myself to one or two fruit a day because the carb/sugar is so high.
I have an apple with peanut butter pretty much every morning so I can get a little protein and some carbs in to kick start my day. About 2 hours later I have a cheese stick or two with another fruit (usually blackberries or blueberries). About 2 hours after that I have my lunch which might consist of tuna, or a sandwhich on 1 piece of bread or a protein shake. About 2 to 3 hours after that I reach for a piece of jerky or string cheese and a veggie (usually carrots, cucumber, tomato, celery, or snap peas or green beans) and about 2 to 3 hours after that it's supper usually it's chicken, shrimp or salmon and another veggie which is usually carrots, green beans, peas or corn *not very often with the corn* but my carb intake is usually really high like anywhere between 60 to 100. I like to keep it below 60 if possible.
I love all fruit but mainly purchase cutie oranges, the mini bananas, apples blueberries, grapes, black berries, and the occasional strawberries. I know that fruits and veggies are important to everyone's health and I would like to incorporate them into my diet and still stay lower carb. Is that possible? I know it sounds weird but I just want to know if I eat more fruit and veggies will I still continue to lose weight?
Thanks for reading!!

I agree- do a little research on the carb count of different fruits. I believe berries are relatively low in carbs. Non- stachy veggies are low in carbs, u should eat lots of them. I think you are right to want to have moderate carbs- I would say 1 seving of berries- or whateve else you like that is relatively low in carbs a day would be great. Get the other 4 servings from veggies. Keep in mind a serving is pretty small, you are probably eating 2 at one sitting. I found a snack of egg whites and a veggie has helped me add a veggie into my day. Hope this helps.
