I have never posted on this website since I was banded 14 months ago. Just look around and found some information troubling. I see a change, not as many upset Band people. I should be one of upset ones since I have not lost any weight since being banded. I lost most of the weight before my surgery and have gain back off and on 5 pounds of it. I seem to lose the same 5 pounds over and over again. I was not large candidate from beginning meaning; I do not need to loss 100 pounds our more to be at healthy weight. But due to mounting medical problems I had my doctor felt this weight loss surgery would help. Anyway, over the year I loss lots of inches, I went from size 18/20 to 14 miss. I feel my band works; I stop eating at point, and definitely know when I went too far with my eating. So the band works, I think the real problem is food choices and that where this section of forum helps. Please all of you who have real success with losing with band. Please post your menus. It a big help to newly banded and now old banded person who are struggling to lose. I am thinking though from reading that my 5-6 mile brisk walk in not enough to move the scale, I do not have time for gym. So I will have to find something that will allow me to burn more calories. I am proud thou of the small change in body. I often smile when people have not seen me in long time say you loss so much weight. I smile and say if you only knew how little I loss. However, my goal in doing this is to loss pounds I'm determine to make that happen. So keep posting what you’re eating.
. It has helped me all through the journey. Everyone has to find out what works for "them", you've lost inches, that is more important than pounds, to me. I am sure you are healthier, too. 5-6 mile walk, wow, that is a lot of walking. I found that whatever makes my heart rate go up and stay up is best for ME, I do brisk walking, but no way near 5-6 mile, way to go. Sometimes just changing our routines help with a stall.
Any questions you have or any NSV you want to share, please do so.

I feel like my journey has been long and while I am still not at goal, I have lost a lot of weight doing what I do. I have plateued at times for a long long time but have never fluctuated upwards of more than 3-5lbs.
I don't count anything, I don't measure anything. I don't usually worry about carbs or fat and while I may get scrutinized over this, I eat candy every day!

One might think I would be in terrible shape from my description above but I have no health issues except reflux which my surgeon told me I am stuck with period (upper GI showed no band issues or esophageal damage)! I get a CBC every 6 months - I had one last week and everything was perfect. I do not have high cholesteral, no high BP nothing, no vitamin deficiencies and everything in my body is functioning normally.

I have never been a poster child for the band but I can certainly say I would not be where I am without it. I know we are all different with how this tempermental thing operates in our bodies. I know I saw a thread in here someone about wanting more people to post what they eat but I certainly would not want to share what I eat to be bashed (it seems as though many of those folks are hiding or have left the board) or to be a bad influence on anyone else or people judging me like WTF!

I know we all have good and bad days. But 9/10 times I'm just winging it when it comes to eating. If I think about food, good or bad, it becomes very obsessive complusive for me and I find myself eating more when I am always thinking about food or what time to eat or what meal/snack is next. For me personally it's best to eat when I am hungry, not surround myself with any kind of food that is at arms reach and definitely not eating on a schedule that again I have to think about. My band and my level of hungry changes everyday and while I don't keep a tight band, I'm not particularly loose either.
Perhaps one day I will buck up and share..............

I'm so glad that everything is going so well with you, thanks for sharing!!

Maybe it's just a self conscious thing because although I don't eat alot most days (sometimes I can be a bottomless pit), I'm not on a particular "diet"...My original surgeon had a meal plan to follow...never followed it for the most part and now I have a new surgeon who I see for fills but I have never seen the nutritionist because thats more out of pocket money and my insurance as is only covers 70% so I have crazy deductibles and co-insurance to pay.
Nonetheless, seeing other people post what they eat and who clearly have rules set for themselves but struggle to lose and then look at someone like me who has never been able to get off the sugar, has no rules and flies by the seat of my pants and is still losing it's gonna be like

Anyway, that is just my two cents. I wish I had a better diet and was a better bandster but in the end for me ultimately it's about the weight lost and not coming back. I still have to be careful and steer myself away from my addictions and forbidden things to have around me but only the really super dangerous ones
