I'm 5'2 and once weighed 280 I now weigh 157 and am three years out. I have kept off the weight for one year because it took me two to loose that much. I was also self pay and I let that motivate me to loose and not gain back. I'm sorry but the band as u know is a tool not a miracle you must learn to use it. For me when I gained 10 lbs it was because of eating around the band . Cookies and candy and soup and pudding got me the extra weight. I then remembered the 18,000 I spent and started back with the proteins and fruits and veggies. Don't let yourself defeat the band. Our blame game when we are obese (for me anyways) was to blame my genetics or family or depression. It is and always will be a choice of what we put in our mouths. You have the choice of how you use your band. Maybe I'm in the minority but I realize I can work with the band or against it. It's your choice. If you need any help please message me and don't give up! YOU CAN SUCCEED if you allow yourself. God Bless You

I am so freaking sick of hearing that B.S. all the time! First of all.............we are NOT so stupid that we expected the band to be a "miracle"!

Second of all...............SOME ppl get a "tool". Others do NOT! You apparently are one of the LUCKY ones if you have a tool!

You are very judgemental! How dare you ASSume that she was working "against it"?! Can't you just be happy that it works for you? You are blessed. Now that blessing may not continue for much longer. That remains to be seen. But you need to appriciate the "tool" that YOU have and stop insulting those of us with failed bands and implying we expected a "miracle" instead of having REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS BASED ON THE ALLERGAN CLAIMS OF LAP-BAND PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you should be very proud of your progress. I'm not sure where your initial expections laid, but I'm sure you know now how slow the band works. Just keep consisitent and more will fall off. Slow and steady! The benefit to this type of loss is that your body will be able to somewhat rebound unlike folks who lose rapidly.

I'm sorry you're frustrated.....
