This video by a former fat dude gives a great visual demonstration of one of the reasons WLS patients should not drink while eating or for 30 minutes afterward. Check it out!

Thanks for sharing, Jean.  I for one needed the reminder.  I especially tend to let coffee seep in, in the winter months.  At first by itself then with a few bites of my protein bar, and so it multiplies.  I will be more mindful.  Though my doc says recent tests show that most food has passed through th pouch in 30 minutes, he likes for you to wait an hour to drink.

Great visual! I needed to be reminded because sometimes I think...."oh a few sips won't hurt." Now, I know better!! I am a very visual learner and this is awesome! (Show me, don't just tell me)

I'm still reading, underlining and learning from your book. It's my "curl up in the bed at night" book.

Thanks, Jean!

Thank you for posting this.  I really had no idea.  When they say that if you drink the food washes through, they really mean it.  I'm successfully converted now.  I'm a non drinker.

I'm starting over on my journey.  I had my band placed in 08 and life went to you know where after that.

and life went to you know where after that.

Hmmm....as my mom used to say, "went to hell in a hand basket"?
