Another question from the newbie! When on clear liquids after surgery, do I assume that the protein drink is not a clear liquid?

They do sell a clear protein drink called Isopure, they sell it in GNC. Sort of like a Gatorade drink but with protein. Most protein drinks are not clear. Check with your Dr's office. They will probably give you a list (mine did). Good luck!!

I used the Isopure clear liquid protein drinks for the first few days.

I was only on clear liquids for 3 days .. And I had no appetite, so that was easy ... Just sip, sip, sip
For my doc, clear means clear ... Have to be able to see through it...and that ruled out most protein drinks.

Don't buy a lot, as Kath said, you probably won't be able to drink much. 2 or 3 should do it. (you might not like them)

you can i say i didnt follow the clear liquids diet, all my surgeon ask for was 2 days before surgery not to have anything red because they might confuse it for blood during surgery. i never liked the vanilla protein shake, actually love the chocolate and cookies and cream one so i mixed it together to change things around.. Good luck
