Sushi!

Had sushi for the first time and I was so happy ... Didn't have any problems with my band at all! Does anyone have any recipes for home made sushi? Is it healthy for us to eat? I'm so excited usually when I find something that my stomach loves because as you all know if your stomach doesn't want it/like it .... It's coming right back up... Well for me that's the case at least !

I don't have any recipes for the home version, for a couple of reasons. One: getting sushi-grade fish is really hard. You can't just get it at the supermarket: it has to be fresher than fresh. Second, it's a pain in the ass to make.

It's healthy for pretty everyone to eat, as long as you're not getting something with a mayo-based sauce in it (spicy tuna, for example) and as long as the rice doesn't bother your stomach. My cranky little buddy doesn't much care for sushi rice (too sticky) or seaweed anymore, so I get sashimi (just the fish part of sushi) which *I* prefer anyway and my band buddy has no issue with.

Hey!
Thanks for the reply! :)
I loved it :) It was amazing and my stomach was like wow ! I usually do okay with rice and as the sushi lol I don't like the fish part of it so it would only be the rice, seaweed, and avocado which i love! What do you think? I will try to make my "fake sushi" and let you know how it goes tomorrow! :)

Just remember that there is no protein if you leave out the fish.

Some stores do sell sashimi grade fish (tuna or salmon mostly) now.  I make my own sushi with brown rice and salmon or tuna, avocado, and some spicy sauce. You should just try googling to get recipes for different roles. I once made sushi using shredded cauliflower instead of rice and it was pretty good and no-carb.

wkly i hit my sushi restaurant for some ahi tuna.

i take that & will make a poke salad:
tuna
low sodium soy sauce
sesame oil
fresh ginger
green onion
cucumber
red pepper
cilantro

that one salad will give me 4 meals & can be adapted in any way.
