Tracey,

I think the shakes are a great way to go and if your family is on them all the better.......I think the less "selection" of foods we have the easier it may be.

See you have the right attitude, you will do great!!!  Not burping all the time is the best thing......in fact I don't think I burped once since the unfill !!!!

The upper GI like Milly suggested might be a good idea.....I am a hour and a half from my doc so they just emailed me a script for a upper GI and had me bring the CD with me (the hospital) was able to give it to me right after the test) to my appointment.....saved me a trip and money.....It didn't take me long to get the GI either and I had my GI in the morning and appointment later in the same day.

Thanks for offering to keep us posted........

Michele

I wish you could get an Upper GI before the unfill, but I certainly understand the need to get the saline out NOW.  I know someone who had the burping thing, and it turned out her band was slipped.  I never burped when my band slipped......burping for me means the food is going through the band FINALLY or starting to, so burps are a relief for me if I am having trouble.

Good luck hon, hope it's nothing serious and that you feel better with some saline out.

Geesh weather is bad, and the band is doing fine as of last night. I could eat and this morning I could drink my shake with no problems...... Gonna see how it does today and maybe wait and go tomorrow. I am so confused on the route to go. It's a 3 hour drive down there, and I really don't want to open this thing up if I don't need to. I will keep you posted.

It sounds like you may be having some problems that aren't normal. You hopefully are just too tight. If it were me I would ask the Dr. to do a barium swallow upper GI study and an EGD to check out your band. You could have a hernia or other issues going on with your stomach. Very important to make sure. Then hopefully your tummy is fine, you can get some unfill. When you do that, focus on low carb foods. I lost 30 lbs after getting my band totally unfilled because I could finally eat protein and veggies like I was supposed to. Good luck! Yes do please join the failed bands group here or on FB (more active). There are lots of us with issues. Some are revising (like me) to VSG or other surgeries. Some are just living with the band.

Band (09/07) removed, revised to sleeve 2/9/12.

I had the band for 3 miserable years.  The pain became progressively worse as the years went by.  I developed severe reflux, esophagitis, and heartburn so bad I would lay in bed in agony.

And the pain was the worst after eating sometimes.  It isn't your fault. It's the bands.

This was without hardly any fill!

The band was the worst mistake I made.  The sleeve the best!

Good luck to you. Maybe a revision is in your future.

Ok, back to burping like a sailor, ugh....

Wondering if it is the pastichios that I have been eating... Anyone have a problem eating them?? Everything else is pretty much what I have eaten all along? Cottage cheese, protein shakes made with almond milk, other than the almond milk, everything else is the same ole same old.
