If you have saline in the band, take some out!  That will fix you.  The way you are living is not the way the band is supposed to work.  I could gulp my water when I had my band.  Pain sounds so sick - never a state to be in to lose weight.  You are way too tight! and if you have an empty band you should seriously consider removing

Best,
Leila

I had a dilated esophagus that did not resolve.  Don't jump the gun. You may be fine with an unfill.  You should have a UGI series that way you will know how your stomach and band are working together.   Mainly you should not be miserable.

Blessings

 You need an unfill.

And burping is usually my signal that my tummy is full..if I keep on eating after I start burping, I'm going to be miserable.

I slight unfill would sound more feasible than removing the entire band, it seems like you are too tight and that is making you miserable. Most people that get the band completely removed usually gain all their weight back.

I would hate to gain all my weight back, so will look into a minor unfill. I would be so depressed to gain weight back, still haven't reached my goal, but, gaining isn't a option.

It is horrible to not be able to drink or swallow your own spit.  I know this from experience and am very happy to say I no longer have any of those problems since I revised from the band to sleeve.

Had my band 4 years and one of the happiest days in my life is when I woke up and no longer had it in my body.

Good Luck but even though you get an unfill please continue to check to make sure there isn't a different problem that is actually causing your current problem.

Oh, I know how you feel.....my band suddenly got real tight and it was horrible, the barium wouldn't even go through just sat there...... but for over a year I burped all the time, had to sip water.....had no problem with meat or solids though.

My Doc did a unfill after seeing the CD..(two weeks before Thanksgiving)......well I didn't have the best will power and have gained enough that I am overflowing my pants big time and can only fit in two pair......I go back on the 26th and are hoping that they will fill me (granted not to the point that I was before).

I forgot what it was like to be hungry, real hungry can't stand it....oh and able to eat what I consider a large amount of food and get that full bloated feeling in the lower half of my stomach like before the band hate that, I got carried away and ate things that were even on my surgeons no no list....had a soda (still took out some fizz though) popcorn (this popcorn has a chocolate layer on top of the most buttery salty popcorn).......don't have to eat small bites or eat slow can guzzle anything........

I am only saying this so you know that I went into it with the wrong mindset, I was depressed that I had to have a unfill (was hoping I could just get a slight unfill) and used that as an excuse to go off the wagon big time..........I know just because I can doesn't mean should but it didn't matter at the time and now I am paying the price.

If you have a unfill you will be at least be going into it knowing that it is your choice, have the mindset that you will be successful, don't let yourself get depressed or mad that you had to have a unfill just enjoy the loss that you achieved, where you came from and be resolved that you won't go back there.

Oh I will fight to get the weight gained off again and if nothing else learned that I was happy at the weight I was before the unfill and wanting to lose that last 10 or 15 pounds to get to "goal" before wasn't worth fretting over......

You will do great, as you can see not everyone goes the path I did........you have the right mindset and of course we all support you................ I do like being able to drink and not burp all the time, I am hoping that a little fill will at least take the edge off of the hunger, I never want to experience that again.

Keep us posted,

Michele

Michele,

Thanks, I really needed to hear that. I am just so upset that I can't eat anything. I am not really hungry because I have been drinking slowly, but still burping. I went to Taco Bell and got the Pinto's Cheese, one of the things I could eat early on. Well, it's kinda of just sitting there.

So, tomorrow I will be heading south (weather permitting) and talk to the girl who does the fills, and unfills. Right now I want it all out!! I am wanting to just eat period, not bad stuff just eat...

My family is losing weight on the shakes by Vialus, and I kinda have the feeling I can do that too. Have researched them for my family and have been drinking them for my morning protein drink. So we will see how the appt. goes tomorrow... I will keep you posted, and really thanks again for your post, it has given me something to think about!!!
