As much as I complain about the band it's self, fills have been very uneventful. No pain. There were a couple of fills when they had trouble accessing the port, no big deal. And believe me, I've had plenty of experience with fills, lol.

Had my first fill this past tues, after having band over bypass on May 23rd.  The dr said I to did not need the fill sooner since I was loosing pretty steadily.  I didnt feel a thing with the fill, but I guess after my recent tattoo I fig I could handle it :)  As long as I dont look, needles dont get to me. (the worst to me is getting blood drawn and seeing the vial, AHHHH not so much thanks! lol)

I have been doing the clear liquid, protein shake, soup thing since... I am suppose to start the mushies tomorrow... i don't really know what I feel though.  I do feel full before i reach my measured out cup of whatever Im having but I have read people feeling an actual restriction... I guess I will learn how to "hear" the band???  Im so afraid of over dong it, I may be babying the situation, does that eventually go away??  The only downside I'm having is major headaches, which I feel are cuz I'm hungry but again since I'm afraid I just keep drinking and try to ignore them..

Keep up the good work everyone! :) goodluck!!

My first fill (six weeks from surgery) was awful, the surgeon had a hard time finding the port.  My second fill with the nurse was one-two-done (she unfortunately left the doctor's office).  My fills in between have been uneventful; except for my last fill (don't plan on ever going back) was hell on wheels, the nurse couldn't find the port - she poked and poked and poked (awful).  She finally froze the area, found the port and I couldn't get the heck out of there fast enough.  I have 8.5 in an 11 band - I'm done!
