Finally under 200lbs!
I had my Band over Bypass in June and I remember my first short term goal, to get under 200lbs. I would have done it before the end of the year but the holidays had me plateauing. I've been at 200.6 or 201.4 for the last 2 wks and last night, I played 2 hours of volleyball plus walked the mi there and 2 mi back and the scale hit 199.2 this morning. I am 2 lbs from 50lbs, and then 20lbs from my RNY/PS low! Here is to the new me!
I have, you know why? With the RNY, I lost 130lbs in the first year, 100lbs in 6 mos. I was so not convinced at this surgery. One of the most respecte WLS surgery doctors told me the BOB wouldn't work. My suregeon said she estimated 50-75lbs. I am thrilled. I have restriction and my life back. Thank God I never got rid of my size 10 clothes when I was 175 after PS with the RNY. I am back into 12s and feeling awesome. I am also working out 6 days a week! The hard part is that I was laid off in October and all I want to do is eat all day out of boredom. But, I also love working out bc its the only thing I can control right now.
Anna:
Its a revision per se. For thos of use who have had a Gastric Bypass, RNY, and it failed. I lost 130lbs with my RNY in 2002 and then gained back 65lbs from 2008-2011. I looked into revising the RNY but it was far too dangerous and wasn't interested in doing the DS. With the BOB, they just band your stomach. Same as anyone else getting a band, just that I still have some dumping from the RNY and malabsorption.
