Happy Annivesary, Melly!
I really appreciate you sharing your story. This is not an easy journey but your positive attitude and determination has served you well. You've always been "real" and through the ups and downs you've stuck with it and you've stayed with us. Your presence here on this forum has been a great motivation for me in many ways.
Best regards,
Lisa O.

Thanks, Lisa. There are fewer and fewer of us "old timers" that show up on the boards. That's always been par for the course, but I was so thankful for the advice I got as a newbie, I try to scan the posts and see if there is something I can offer to someone.
Your common sense approach and honesty has always made me a fan of yours!

Thank you for sharing your story, I saw much of myself in it, and I've only been banded 12 days now! You're right, it's not easy, and I am working with a therapist on my issues with food, and it was encouraging to learn she too had lapband surgery, so she knows what I am going through and can empathize :-)
Best of luck to you going forward, and congrats on your success!

How awesome is that?? A therapist that had the band herself?? Wow!! Lucky you!! Good luck to you, and just remember this is a LONG, LIFETIME JOURNEY......don't hate yourself for little slip ups and or even the big ones.
As food addicts we CAN'T obstain totally from our addiction, but we can learn to control our behavior most of the time.

Great post, Melly. You are so right that the band journey is not an easy one. Not easy, but doable for most of us. I am so glad that you were able to see yourself differently and realize that you needed to make adjustments to your personal life - I fear that many folks don't recognize when they are in toxic relationships and they get drug back down.
Take care!
Take care!
