Band Problem or Sick???

Starting yesterday afternoon I began feeling a tightness in my chest and throat. I was able to get soup down and warm liquids and even mashed potatoes. But all through the night while I was laying in bed I kept feeling the urge to vomit (my cheeks water, that's my sign). I would wake up and feel the need to do it. I'm wondering if there is a problem with my band or if maybe I have the flu or something. I had a slight unfill on Thursday. On Friday I woke up with what I thought was a cold but I was able to eat just fine. Saturday I did get sick once but kept the rest of my food to liquids for the day.
This is really uncomfortable. My doctor is quite a ways a way (as in out of state) and I don't want to have to drive all the way back to see them if this is just the flu.
Has anyone experienced this? Any advice??

I have felt like this. It was because I had a block. something got stuck and pieces would go down but some wouldnt. I was able to drink a little bit but then the rest of the food fell and blocked completely. I wasn't able to eat or drink. I got so dehydrated I ended up losing 15 lbs in like 3 days from all the vomitting. So that being said I had to get a complete unfill... I would call ur Dr to see if there is anything u could do on ur own so u dont have to make the trip, but U might have too.!

I'm not sure..there are some nasty viruses going around now.  Are you nauseous, running a fever?  You might be still be a little swollen from the unfill.  I would give it a day and see if you feel any better.  If you are not keeping liquids down, then go back.

Sounds like the band, but it's possible it could be something else. Let us know what you find out.

So I called my doctor and spoke with the nurse. She told me to come in because I didn't need to have that tight feeling...ever! So I jumped in the car and headed back to down to my doctors area.
I had my appointment today and they gathered that it was mucus plugging  me up. The took some fluid out and I've been on warm clear liquids all day to help get the rest of the mucus to pass. I also was given a steriod shot to help me dry up some.
I'm still feeling a bit tight this evening. I've had slight pain while drinking some broth tonight. I will see how I feel tomorrow and if there is still pain, even the slightest, then I will call to go back in. I can't afford to get back home and have to come back again.
