Everyone has their own opinion, but Id do it all over again!!! If it dont work for some, they prob have crappy Drs or they dont use the band as they should!! I have a best friend that was banded a year before me and shes done tremendous!!!! Shes lost well over 125 pounds so far!! we have the same dr though...you have to keep good maintenience on your band as you do your vehicle or it will fail!!!

Here we go again. Blaming the patient for harm caused by the band is ignorant, rude, cruel and disrespectful. I was horribly damaged from the band through NO fault of my own. My only "mistake" was having human anatomy.

Yeah I wonder how she's gonna feel about her statement when HER band craps out on her?! Funny how they seem to forget how it was always the bandsters fault PRIOR to that! :-(

That is extremely cruel and tacky to blame the bandsters! There are thousands of ppl out there with FAILED BANDS..........NOT failed bandsters..........FAILED BANDS! HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE THEM OF CAUSING THEIR OWN PROBLEMS! While you may not have had problems with your band YET.............you will! Why do you think you don't see bandsters on here that are 5 years out without band problems. Hell you hardly ever even see on 5 years out period!

So when YOUR band craps out on you.............I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER HOW CRUEL YOU WERE TO BLAME OTHER BANDSTERS WHEN IN FACT IT WAS THEIR BANDS THAT FAILED.........NOT THEM!

I am at about a year and I love my band.  I would not go any other route. Having said that, if you are a binge eater or have other eating disorder behaviours, you will still need to work on those. The band really is a tool. Anyone can figure out how to get around any type of weight loss surgery. I only say these things because I DO have binge behaviours that I have had to work on...and that is a GOOD thing...being healthy is more than a number on a scale.

In this year I have lost 55 pounds, gone thru the sudden, unexpected death of my 16 year old son, had gallbladder surgry (not band related), learned what my slider foods are, abused them, and am finally making forward mental progress. I am beyond blessed that thru it all I had a band to help me.

Good luck! Beth
