Hi I ate a small empanada and my tummy went into a fit. Last night I left like one side dropped a heavy ball to the other side, today im sore, tummy is distended, have spasms, and pulling and just uncomfortable- like day ONE. I am on only liquids today and hoping my tummy will return to a happy place again and relax, also taking lik of magnesia as that seem to be another problem. I guess the difficulty in digesting the empana has irritaed everything? anyone?

Your guess is probably right.  My best friend is Mexican and I LOVE her food. lol  But I have to be honest... I would have never tried a bite of an empanada at even 3 months out.  You can really screw yourself up so hopefully its a lesson learned.  I hope that you feel better soon!

One episode probably won't have done long term damage. But don't do it again! Breaching the rules for when to eat solids etc. is one of the identified causes of later slips etc..

Yep I know that,  just a big error on my part, but today Sunday I feel 100% better and it seems the "milk of magnesia" is my hero. I thought I was current yest and still the pains etc. after this mornings visit to the loo, no more pain no more pulling. I guess lack of water and the surgery and meds really backed me up, more than what I expected. Now I know, this is an area mus****ch. I asked Dr about taking my probiotic pills and he said NO- eat yogurt, did nothing for me. next visit I will ask again if I crush them, if it can take them again. I went to 3 diff GI Drs  3 yrs prior to lapband and nobody ever suggested probiotics - once I started taking them falt like a new person.  Just bought some cottage cheese and they have 10 mg protien for 4 oz  and PROBIOTICS  yey!!,,
