I re-joined WW about 6 weeks after my band surgery --- and I worked the program and got to my WW goal 1 year ago.
I still attend meetings -- and have weighed in at or below my goal weight for 12 consecutive months!!!
I really believe that WW is the key to my maintenance program -- it keeps me accountable to myself and to the group.
I attend at 7:30 on Saturday mornings, so it is a bit of a sacrifice to get up early on that day to be there -- my leader is fabulous (lost 105 pounds herself) --- and we have over 75 regular members at our meeting.
On the first Saturday of every month, she has the Lifetime members stand up and be acknowledged by the group -- and she does a short 'maintenance meeting' after the regular meeting -- so we can talk about the challenges directly related to our status.
I love it! Worth every penny I have ever paid them.

I have been wondering the same thing - I'm disappointed there aren't more responses to your post!
I think i'll give it a go. did you know right now for WW online there is no registration fee? And it is 50$ a month for 3 months then 19$ a month after that.
I've done meetings in the past (pre-surgery) but i've never done the online thing. I have two co-workers that are also doing it so i'm hoping that'll be some support for me? Have you ever tried the online thing (pre or post surgery)?

Thanks Ladies for the replies! I have done WW before surgery and I lost 33 lbs, then hit a plateu and of course gained it all back! I look forward to the routine and the accountability. I hear they don't have the Core Plan anymore and boy I did love that plan!
Good luck and Chris if you decide to do it, let me know and we can do it together!!
Good luck!
Thank you Kath, that is amazing! Now, a question, did you tell them you had surgery? I don't think I'm going to...

I did not tell my WW group that I have had surgery.
As far as loving the Core program ---- now, the program is called Points Plus - but they have 2 options.
One option is to calculate all of your points every day (every food, etc).
The other is the"Power Foods" option --- the 'power foods (healthy ones!!)' are marked with a green triangle in the book ---- you can eat those 'until you are satisfied' --- and not count them.
So, if you are not good at tracking, you can eat Power Foods (and there are alot of them) -- and then just track the 'non-power' foods --- you get 49 additional points per week to use as you choose.
For me, a typical day is
Greek Yogurt, banana -- both power foods
Tuna, whole grain crackers, veggies -- all power foods
Light mayo -- not a power food, so I count 2 points for my lunch
Fat Free cottage cheese with sliced peach --- both power foods
3 - 4 ounces lean protein -- power food
1/2 small baked sweet potato -- power food
1/2 cup veggie -- all power foods
1T low-fat margarine on my potato --- I count 2 points for that
So -- I get a pretty well balanced 'bandster diet' for 4 points ----

I see no reason not to try it! It's a balanced way of eating and it's good to be accountable each week. I love the support and the encouragement.
I do have to mention that when I joined after being banded - about 2 years ago, I was told by a facilitator not to mention I had the LapBand. She said not all facilitators appreciate WLS clients and they may ask me not return saying I have a tool the others in the group do not.
I do know other Banders *****adily volunteered that they were Banded and had no negative outcomes.
Just my 2 cents.
Good Luck!
