All 2012 SECRET SANTAS: LISTEN UP!
The time for holiday frivolity has come and gone, and it's time to get down to brass tacks . . .
Most of you have told me that you have received something from your Santa. Congratulations.
I know that most of you liked what you got. Those of you who DIDN'T, I apologize for that - but I have no control over what your Santa sent you.
Some of you are still waiting for a present that IS on the way and I believe it it on the way because I trust your Santas. Kate: it's on the way. Karen R aka 6841sowell, it's on the way. Your Santa ended up buying and sending yours twice because, we assume, the PO lost it.
JOURNEYSEEKER: I don't know what the story is with yours. Ambelina was your SS. What's up with Journeyseeker's gift, A?
AMBELINA: You told me that you got yours, correct? I don't have you checked off, but I think I remember you PMed that you got it.
LUCKY62756: I have no idea what the story is with yours. I DO know that a NUMBER of people volunteered to act as backup Santa for you, so the gifts you have received recently are probably from them. UPTWIST, your actual Santa, was never heard from after her initial "I want to take part" PM back in November. Speaking of which . . .
UPTWIST: If you received your package - and I have no reason to believe that you didn't - it would be nice if you could bother to take two seconds to say "thank you" to your Santa, WILDHEART63.
If I left out anyone who HASN'T gotten a gift, please let me know.
These are the reasons I don't want to be "Santa's Little Helper" anymore. Secret Santa has to run on faith - faith in our fellow OHers and it's been done every year to foster friendships here. At least, that was the INTENT.
There is no easy way to ensure that everyone does what they promise to do when they sign up; I just have to believe that they will. Someone always gets what they consider a crappy gift but as I said, I have no control over that. And every year there is at least one person who gets hosed out of a gift. THAT is just plain ****ty.

I think the ones who got a gift and didn't send one should return the one they go to the person who had there name. it wasn't fair to get a gift and not send one out if there was a good reason then they should have contacted Betty and told her they couldn't do it so they could have been removed from the list
Hey Bette, I did receive my gift & my Secret Santa was amazing in her choices.
JourneySeeker - I didn't forget - we had a family emergency & Christmas had to be put on hold. Your package should have been there by today at 10am. I took it to FedEx on Friday evening (I think it was Friday - it's a bit of a blur) & sent it two-day air, but they said it would not go out until Monday as it was too late that day. Intended to send it next day air but underestimated the cost of doing that with a package. I'm so sorry. I have a tracking number for you if it does not arrive today. Again, I am so sorry. This was my 3rd year in SS and I'm not normally a flake.
