I seen a few posts on here about unfills. I had 4cc in my bad since April 09, I got another fill on 6/11 od .6cc  Since then I can't eat alot of solid protein.. I eat alittle and get stuck..always..even when I chew real well. I can eat everything else..(chips, puddings, soups, cake, pies, etc..Do you think that extra .6cc fill is causing my problems..I haven't lost any weight since June, infact  I have gained a few pounds because of the sliders...  lucky

That is what I was going through. All the good for me foods were getting stuck. I gained weight. I would call and see if you can get 1/2 of the new fill .3cc taken out. Then do your docs protocol for fills liquids for a few days or whatever yours is. The past week I can eat normal again my 1/2 cup and have lost 2 and a half pounds. I would call. Good luck and keep us posted.

Someone wise in my journey once told me "Just because you can doesn't mean you should"  The band is not a test tool to see what you can get down it.  You are not losing weight because you are eating chips, puddings, cake, etc.   Not to say that you will never eat these things again but trust me when I say once you give up the junk when you go back to it you will wonder why you liked it to begin with.  I consider myself a food snob, the food has to be worthy to make it past my lips!  I won't waste calories on junk!

Keep trying to get the protein in, have you tried saucing it up?  When you use some type of dipping sauce it acts as a lubricant to help it go down better.  Keep expriementing on how you are cooking your meat.  Meat cooked in a crock pot is nice and tender and sometimes really easy to get down but a dry chicken breast from the grill would get stuck quick!  You will find what works best, just keep trying.

Yep --- I would go in and ask to have .25 removed ---- and see how that feels.

If you are too tight to eat 'real' food, you are too tight ---- and the natural tendancy is to resort to easy to eat/slider foods (which are more calorically dense).

If you can't eat 3 or 4 ounces of white fish, or good steak or meatloaf, your band is too tight --- and it has been for 6 months now ----- that is way too long.

Seriously, you can be causing damage to your body (don't care about your weight) --- get this looked at.

Unfill! If slider foods go down but protein doesn't, you are, IMO, too tight.

Hey Lucky!  Good to see you and Happy New Year!!

I, as always, agree with Kath and Kate BUT I'm wondering if your bites are too big and then maybe even too close together?  I sometimes forget to eat small "band" bites.  I was taking normal sized bites for the longest time and then realized that I needed to cut my meat even smaller.  I refuse to go tight enough to only take pea sized bites though!

Stay away from those sliders woman!  If you need a slider, maybe go with some greek yogurt instead?

I would say that if things do not change, then you really might be too tight.

You sound like me. I am considering getting a small unfill for just that reason. Seeing my surgeon on the 16th.

Thanks Ladies... I just called to get an unfill of the .6cc.. My ins. wont cover it so I have to pay $200.00. i am glad he didn't put more in back in June.. at least i can do some solids....I think I am just goning to try eating smaller bites and slow down more and see if that helps..or until I can save the $200.00,,,   Thanks again...Time to get back to the basics...    "Back to reading Jeans book "Bandwagon"...     Hugs..."Lucky"

Does your ins cover a fill? If they do i would look into that more. If they cover the fill shouldn't they cover an unfill? When is your next regular appt? I wouldn't stay too tight to long. When I was tight I ate a lot of Greek yogurt and low fat cheese sticks.

You should get an unfill soon, being tight will not resolve itself.

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.
