Time to get back on the BandWagon
I think Christmas and New Years is the two hardest holidays to stay on track and not eat what we shouldn't eat.
I didn't have any problems at Thanksgiving but these two holidays oh my gosh talk about eating foods I haven't touched since my surgery and then boom its like I never ate them before .
I ate fudge, Rice Krispy treats, cookies , to much Chex Mix and it sure didn't help that I was getting ready to start my period and craving sweets and salt like there is no tomorrow.
Kids are going back to school this week, I cleaned out all my cookies, chex mix , pies and gave them to the next door neighbors and their kids . Went to the store got me turkey, apples, nanners, and carrots for my snacks again. 90% of the time I can keep all the stuff in the house and it dont bother me at all but with me ready to start my period and the cravings for them things it was best just to get them out of the house .
I got my extreme Zumba all planned out for the week with my trainer so good to go with exercise.
would like to get another 40 pounds off me before the start of summer .
Sure glad these holidays are over with. It's hard enough in the winter time to lose weight because I get lazy with cold weather and getting darker out and you just want to sit and graze all day especially at night and add the holidays on top of it equals double ***** trying to lose weight lol.

It is so good to hear everyone's stories. I work 60+ hours a week, I'm tired, I don't get to support groups and forget to go to the Help boards. So I have five minutes before leaving for work......I open the LapBand forum and lo and behold, this post is me and how I am doing! Not working my band, eating junk, not drinking my water. Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone. Back to the basics I go. I've done so well that I don't want to mess it up over a few cookies and candies! Happy New Year to all of you. 2012 is going to be our year!
All the replies were just what I needed to read today. i have been feeling very bad about myself that I am the only one that is not successful with the lap band. I lost the intital 61lbs but I also have been igorning my band, or should I say been on vacation from my band since August. It is time to to step back up and get back on track, we can do this!!
Let me just say that I am with all of you! In addition to Christmas and New Years, I had a birthday in between! I threw out a bunch of food yesterday and so far today, I have been better (not perfect . . . . !). It's that sugar addiction like you all said.
So thanks for the post and giving me a chance to confess my sins - I have 15 pounds to lose by the summer!
Happy New Year and Stay Strong!!

I had my LAP Band procedure on Dec 1st and as it worked out I was pretty much able to "sample" small portions of our regular Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners. I was careful to eat the protein, skip the potato and pass on the sauces and gravy. I didn't have any alcohol, no wine toast. I did have a sliver of dessert. I've found I've lost 28 pounds without my first fill and I'm just stuck there. Because of my poor hip I'm unable to exercise. My first fill is Jan 11th. I'm behaving now, but looking forward to that crack down that the fill will give me and the motivation of buying smaller clothing! I must say I got gift cards for clothing for Christmas...and a highlight recently was buying a smaller size! I stood in the dressing room just crying...I was so happy! More motivation...

i am right there with you all needing to get back on track. I was banded nov. 09. Lost 107 pounds- have put back on 30 of that. Several people have told me I lost too much weight, so my plan is to loose 20 of it and see where I'm at. I have jeans I want to fit back into. I have struggled since a trip to europe the beggining of Oct. then of course there was thanksgiving and christmas and new years. Today went great, let's hope it's the beggining of staying on track. Good luck to all! We can do it!
