Handing over the Secret Santa reins . . .

Okay, this is my third (fourth?) year as Santa's Little Helper, and I am done with it.

My reign has ended.


Who wants to accept the pointy elf cap of Santa's Little Helper for 2012?Any volunteers? Do we need to institute a draft?  It could be a very easy year, if that whole Mayan-end-of-the-world thing comes true . . .

 I hate to see you stop being our little Santa Elf..lol But, after what has been happening with the Secret Santa gift giving on here..I can't blame you one bit.. Thanks for all your hard work..I don't think I will be joining it next year..  If you can't trust your friends, who can you trust.. I thought everyone on here was like family..Well, some of you are to me... but, I guess you really don't know people.. I am sorry it had to end this way..But, maybe next year we could pm each other to be sure that no one gets screwed...lol..Happy New Year to All...Hugs..."Lucky"

I have been reading the posts maybe who ever takes over will need to put some rules down. For example you have to be here for so many months and have so many posts in this forum for you to join the program ? I dont know.

I hope things go better for you all next yr . I know our post office has things messed up here because of them getting ready to close down a bunch of our post offices .

I say give out the names around Thanksgiving and EVERYONE must submit a valid tracking number 2 weeks before the open date.  If they dont submit no present and whomever sends to them would send to whom they drew.

I'm sorry that you don't want to do this next year Bette. I thought you did a great job organizing the whole thing, If you stay on I would be more then willing to help you with it next year. I didn't do it last year because I was a newbie on here but , I have to say that I really enjoyed this and the card exchange. I have to say that I agree with Jess that we should have an earlier cut off date and be able to track the pkg. If they do not have it they don't participate.

Its rough when you are doing something fun, with friends and someone wants to join and then doesn't behave properly. At my house we spank people like that... oh wait..that's because its usually little kids...   I will still be here, I will still be participating...I do wish I could see an easy way to fix the drama that happens due to some.  I mean I have no issue with late gifts, or gifts that "weren't what someone expected"  Things happen...but I don't like those that do nothing and then simply vanish, sadly I think its like so much else in life...its a gamble.  Just like when someone steals from you, you can be upset and mad at first but then you are only going to be causing your self more frustration to focus on that.  I try to tell myself, well I hope they needed it more than me and I hope they get great use out of it.  It helps me at least at some point to let the item go and not hold a grudge, which only hurts me...I mean, holding a grudge doesn't bother the other person..they have already forgotten their transgression.  I appreciate all you do so that we can have this Bette, I am sure it is a chore, but one of love :)  Please don't pack your crown totally away, set it in the closet for a few months, but please don't toss it out... you are after all the Secret Santa Queen :)
