Hi All!
Having a major plateau right now. It's been about 5 months. Please give me an idea of what your day looks like as far as your daily intake. You know, just some ideas of what you eat on an average day. Need some new ideas. I may need to get into the nutritionist soon and have her take a look at my diet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jen,

I was in a plateau forever and decided to go strictly high protein, low carb and have been doing great so far.
Here are few examples of what I eat:

B: 2 srambled eggs, with a couple peices of bacon/scrambled eggs with mushrooms and onions
L: 3-4 oz hamburger with cheese, with 1/2 cup green beans/1/2 cup tuna with cheese and lettuce
D: Small piece of baked chicken 1/2 cup green beans
S:Celery with 2 tbsp natural pb/black olives with 3 oz cheese/green peppers with cream cheese filling

I try to switch it up daily so I don't get bored. I hope this helps.

Thank you. Wonderful ideas! I need to go back to basics! The carbs are lowly creeping back in.

I haven't lost any weight in about 6 or maybe 7 months now. I just yo yo back n forth on the same 5 pounds....which is ok. I haven't been able to stick to my diet like I did so that is the reason why I'm no long losing. I still try to high protein, lower carb, n fat. I noticed I am eating a lot more sugar though. So do as I say, and not as I do! lol

Good luck!

i agree with ashley just go back to protein protein and more protein!!
for breakfast i usually have either 1 boiled egg whites with half an apple, or 2 scramble egg whites with a slice of low fat cheese and a slice of wheat bread.
for mid day snack i would have greek yogurt 6oz 0 fat
for lunch i have 4 oz of oatmeal with a few raisins
dinner i have chicken breast with steam veggies.
and if i get hungry i get a cup of grapes or an apple in between meal..

also try and excercise atleast 3 times a week i have a very active job so im up and around all day but still try and make it to the gym and challenging my body every other day :)

Jen,

I've never done well on a low-carb eating plan, and I'm working on getting more fiber into my diet.

Here's a typical day's eating for me:
B: protein shake (I can't eat solid food first thing in the morning)
S: skinny latte
S: protein bar or Greek yogurt w/ fruit
L: chicken & edamame salad
S: trail mix
D: salmon, cooked greens, barley
S: fresh fruit or SF pudding

I think your idea of seeing your nutritionist is the best course of action.

Hey Jen --
It always helps me to get the 'crappy carbs' out of the house.

I find that I get into phases where I have pretzles and chips around the house -- and too many varieties of crackers (I don't do sweets).

So -- when I get ready to 'step away from the carbs', I do allow myself to indulge a little bit heavier in cheese and nuts for a few days.  Those help me to not feel deprived while I cleanse out the cravings that the carbs set me up for.

When I am 'on my game', my typical day looks like

B -- hot tea, greek yogurt about 8am
S -- small banana or a piece of cheese at about 11am
L -- tuna mixed with a little light mayo and seasonings, 12 low-fat wheat thins broken in 1/2 at about 1pm
S -- small piece of fruit or a piece of cheese and a handful of almonds
D -- lean mieat or fish, 1/2 cup of cooked veggie at about 7pm
S -- 1/2 a Luna Bar or other protein snack
Kath

Might need to shake things up a bit and........... exercise .  Not much use telling you what I eat.  It's been 5 1/2 years for me and I basically eat whatever I like now.  Just follow the rules to the letter and exercise.  Five months is a long plateau so look honestly at your intake and output.  Keep a journal and watch out for liquid calories.  Oh.... and drink lots of water.

Good luck :)
