Band will not fill - advice needed

This January will be my fourth year band anniversary.  Up to this past July, I was doing great almost down 100 lbs.  with very minor problems once in awhile and averaging a 25 lb loss the last two years each.  I was on vacation at the beach in July and believe I became dehydrated even though I was drinking water.  The night I arrived home,  my band went crazy with spasms from my throat to my lower stomach.  I went in for a small unfill and by the time I got home, the spasms were worse.  The next day, I had my doc remove all of the fill.  He did not want to but did it because I insisted.  After a couple of weeks, I went back for a fill.  No restriction.  Then I went every week thereafter without any restricition.  Even when it was done under a scope.  Right now, I am up 25 lbs., and trying my hardest to eat properly and drink plenty of water.  I will be going to see him tomorrow and I am at my wits end.  The last fill was a doozy and within days I had no retriction.  I went 8 weeks in a row for fills by the way.  Please,  give me some advice.

Sounds like you may have a leak in the tubing,  Doc could have pierced it when he as doing the unfill or you may just need to get back to close to the same fill level as you had before the unfill. either way he will find what the problem is, hang in there. I had a total unfill for about 6 months and have started refilling I am at 5.5cc and still no restriction which doesn't surprise me even at 8.7cc I had none..continue watching what you eat untill you have the problem resolved

So many think their band is a "success" because they get restriction and lose weight. What most of them don't realize is that it is a temporary "fix". You've done good to make it as long as you did with "very minor problems once in awhile".

Cut your losses and REVISE!

When the fills are done, are they checking to see that there's approximately the same amount of fluid as before?  If there's significantly less, I would suspect a leak.

I've heard of doctors sometimes using omnipaque (a contrast material) to sometimes "seal" a pin hole leak.  You might ask about that.

Best of luck to you.
