slight weight gain after two years
I am two years out after my lap band. I feel like I am in a rut! I have had two major surguries following my lap band and I feel like it slowed me down. I had major neck surgury and for over four months I was limited on what I could do. In the first year I lost 68lbs from the lap band and over all almost 75lbs. I was one of the smallest Lap Band patients and my band is only 4cc so it got maxed pretty quick with fills. I go every three months for follow ups and weigh in's and I am thinking about the laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy Procedure. My husband thinks I am fine just the way I am, but I am not happy with the weight gain, bored some with my food items and at times I have had food get stuck and stressed myself out. I have even got sick on yogurt. Does anyone have advice on how I can move my metabolism or get this weight back off. I am fighting my hypothyroid in all of this so its making me stress. I was so excited to be at goal at one point and all of the sudden the weight came right back. HELP!
Well if you are at max with your band then the only other things I can suggest is to up your exercise and really buckle down on your food choices and journal every bite. If you can get insurance to cover the sleeve that would be another alternative and most bandsters who have revised are very happy with their sleeves. Quit often it did help them reach goal when the band didn't altho if you are close to goal it may take longer to lose the last little bit. You might post this on the sleeve forum to get more advice.
Thank you!, I used to keep a food journal all the time and the nutritionist said it was ok to stop since I was maintaining for so long. When I had the neck surgury I felt like I was limited. I am going to call both the bariatric nutritionists and my thyroid dr tomorrow. They are both fantastic with my meal plans. I need to make myself exercise, I keep telling myself that is the other issue as well! I am going to look into Zumba this week which will get me out of the house. Again , thank you!
