Yes, that makes perfect sense! If I had an NG tube for the better part of a week, I'd be off my damned rocker!
Does he think the esophageal dismotility happened when the band was put in? Did you have an endoscopy as part of your pre-op checklist and can they detect the dismotility issue with that?
I guess it's a moot point, really, since the band is gone. But if you opt to do a different WLS, I don't know if that will affect your options or not.
For now, it's just recovering from your ordeal and getting back to normal. I'm glad the worst is over!!!!

He did not do any pretesting for Esophogeal Dismotality because he haid out of 100 bands, 99 will not have it. He did not say for sure that is what was wrong, but it was a possibility. And yes, my band lasted for a week and a half, but not because of my surgeon, my band, or myself. I has a physical reaction to the band and the restriction it caused. There was nothing that I or my surgeon could have anticipated or done any different to change the outcome.
