Congratulations!  Yours is an important story to share.  It's great to know that it's possible to continue losing weight 5 years out!  I lost most of my weight in the first year but it's probably going to take 5 years to lose the last 25 lbs and I'm o.k. with that.

Never give up, right?

Best~

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!  My goal is to be a size 10/12.  I've gotten to a 16. It has taken me almost a year to lose to that.  But if it takes me a couple of years to lose it, I'm really OK with that because I sure carried it around for longer than 2 years.  Mega Congrats to you!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank goodness you wrote this.............I was at the point of giving up hope! I have been feeling that this band works for everybody but me! I started out great. Lost 26 pounds and 18 inches in the first three months. Worked out twice a week with a trainer and ate right. Then as I continued to have a small fill every month for months on end.......and NO MORE weight loss I began to emotionally eat. So, I  started cheating. I discovered that I couldn't eat a lot at one time, but I could "graze" often.

Your story here has helped me soooooooooo much! I didn't gain all this weight in a year, so if it takes me five years, then it will just take me five years. I, too, have not found a "sweet spot" that I hear so much about. I have been filled to the point that my 10cc band has 9cc in it. Not much more can go in it if I want to be able to swallow my own saliva

Thank you everyone!

Long story short. Year = #1 I lost -35 lb / #2 another -35 lb / # 3 lost -17 lb / year 4 I gained 20 lb and now this year I lost 35 lb. Why so slow? I never hit my sweet spot. I have not been a very good bandster. I wool do good for awhile and then give up. I Have had many ups and downs these past five years but the key is to get back up when u fall. I have no doubt I will hit my goal in 2012. For the first time I feel like I've got this. I'm enjoying my workouts, I exercise 5 days a week. I'm eating healthy, counting calories, fat, & protien. I just feel really good now. The best thing is, is knowing I have my tool forever! I would encourage anyone just starting out not to give up hope.

Interesting process. Main thing is that it works! Thats all that matters.
I always thought I can never keep in track of all the calories and diets, but after a while it becomes a habit I guess.
I am just starting with my new lap band, and I can't wait to post updates here.
