I went for my second fill the other day and the doctor was unable to do it..  Dr. said that he could not find the hole and would have to do it under xray so he could see it after trying several times and being unsuccessful. I was wondering if this has happen to anyone else...  or if it is something I should be concerned about..  I am only at a 3..   feeling a little discouraged and worried..

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear you had such a tough time at your appointment. I felt the same way you did after they couldn't locate my port. When I went in for my first fill, they couldn't locate it at all, I was in tears by the end of my appointment because they stuck me so many times and were jamming around in there. They were able to locate it right away under the fluro, I actually prefer to have it done under fluro now since they typically will have you drink contrast to see how it goes through before you leave..Good Luck!

Thanks... do they do yours every time under fluro now?  Just curious, if once they cant find it if there will be a problem every time..

Thanks:)

Sounds like my first fill! The nurse poked me about 3 times and said let me get the dr.
She had to manipulate the port due to it was tipped.I was lucky it was tipped outwards and not inwards.
After 45 minutes she finally got it in, when I got off the table I was shaking and so scared.
My second fill though was uneventfull, thank god since I was so nervous.

It happend to me twice,  I found the more weight I lost the easier it was for them to hit the port

Lapband - Jan 2009 weight goal reached with lapband. Revised to VSG- 1/25/16

My nurses used a portable ultrasound machine to locate the port when I was a new bandster.  Now it's not really necessary.  It should get easier as you lose.
