The band is coming out tomorrow.  He tried to talk me out of it, but I am just sick of it.  I need it out of me so I can get back to living my life.

Good idea.  Hopefully you won't have permanent damage from it.

PS. Good luck with the surgery. Same surgeon doing the removal?

Wow yours is the shortest amount of time I have known of anyone having the band. I've known them to develope, or rather be diagnosed with slips, esophageal dysmotility, erosion at 1 month. But never this soon.

Bexie,

I am very sorry that you had to go through all this pain and suffering.  You were so excited to be starting this new journey.  All I can say is that this really sucks for you.

I do hope that your recovery from the second surgery gives you back your life.  My prayers are with you.

I am so, so sorry. You went into this, as we all do, with excitement and high hopes; so nasty to be brought down to earth with such a major thump.

Do not under any cir****tances start the "if only..." game. You did your research, made your decision. Then it went wrong. Moving on is going to be hard but you seem to be a stong person with a great sense if humour. You will do it!

Best wishes, Kate

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Ugh.  I'm so sorry you had to go through all of this.  But I'm glad you get to get rid of that awful NG tube!!!!!

May your surgery be uneventful and your recovery super quick, Bexie.

I guess it was like buying a car without knowing how to drive. I have never had any surgery or any foreign body in me, so no one could predict the reaction to it.

Actually, come to think of it, when I was younger, and I would get splinters (we had the crappiest wood floors when I was a kid), we never had to dig them out. If we waited a day or so, my body would expell them. It worked with wood splinters, a pebble imbedded in my leg, and a needle that broke off in my foot. I guess I do have a little experience with foreign bodies.
