Hello everyone,

I had my Lap Band done last Thursday and my recovery has been completely uneventful and almost a small vacation from work!  Last night around 11 PM I started having muscle spasms around the port area.  They were more noticeable especially after laying down to the point of having to stand up and move around.  I have not had any other pain in the area and the wound is healing nicely.  Anyone else have something similar?  Any recommendations?  I am waiting on a return call from the Dr's office, but thought I should ask here to see if this is a common issue.

Thanks
Tyler

My port was the longest to heal, I never le****er touch it for about 8 weeks post op, it hurt off and on for about 3 months, I wore loose clothes to avoid any pressure in that area.  Any type of unusual movement would hurt in the port area during the first 6 months post op.

Also while losing weight my port shifted positions and would sometimes ache but not enough to call my surgeon. But after about 1 year I never had any more issues and now over 6 years post, I have to remind myself it is still there, I never had any more issues after my first year.

I agree with nana- the port area takes the longest to heal, in the first three weeks I always carefully tucked a cover on my side just to somehow protect it. you did the right thing, calling you doctor, and I am happy to hear that otherwise your recovery is going well. Don't worry too much!
