Not So Good today

Not feeling well today.  I am in pain, my whole midsection feels like I have been punched.  It's hard to take a deep breath, and the NG tube is irritating everything and making me feel gaggy.  took a sip and the pain was horrible.  This really sucks.

(((((Bexie)))))). You poor, poor thing! I am so sorry this is happening to you.

When do you see the doc again?

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

are you walking around?  is the pain gas like or just sore?   you may still need to be on pain meds.

i would have a terrible time w/a NG tube - have you tried some SF ice pops?

your recovery is not envious - hope you feel better soon.

I don't see the do****il Tuesday. I will get up and walk around a little, that might help. I just feel so yuck.

The pain taking a deep breath is from the gas in you abdominal cavity. For me, a heating pad seemed to help that. Hope you feel better soon.

You mentioned that you'd never had surgery before, correct? The midsection pain is normal, as is the not being able to take a deep breath. Your diaphragm is being taxed because of the CO2 gas used in surgery. The NG tube is the worst... I had one, too. It makes your esophagus feel like it's burning and spazzing out, for lack of a better description.

The burping up foam concerns me. I imagine it must be gastric acid or something. Too much of that would damage your esophagus over time, so I hope your doctor can figure that one out.

He said he has no clue why I am doing that. It doesn't seem acid when it comes up, just a very firm foam, sometimes white, sometimes flecked with brown. I have not been drinking anything brown.

I guess it's a good thing that it's not acidic, anyway?  Maybe it's just saliva? Do you think that's possible? It still doesn't account for the brown flecks, but our bodies are weird and do weird things sometimes.

All surgeries are invasive and affect us in ways that are wildly unpredictable. I hope it's just a temporary thing and you'll feel better really soon.

I just never expected it to feel like this. In another day or so, I am supposed to be thinking about adding soft and mushies, and I have not yet even made it past fluids. I am not hungry, just constantly thirsty. I hope this all resolves in the next day because my surgeon said that we may have to pull the band.
