got on the scales tonight and shocked to see I have gone from 168 lbs to 178 lbs. I understand the lapband is just a tool, but it isn't easy at all to get and keep the weight off. Not what i was lead to believe ,  it would do for me. It's not any easier than before I had the ban d put in me.   Feeling pretty discouraged tonight.

Hi Sandra,

I too have gained in the last little while. I'm at a similar weight to you. I was about 174 lbs and now I am 180 lbs.  All my own doing naturally.

Of course the band is not going to keep the weight off, if it did it would be a magic band (sign me up for one of them!)

Don't be discouraged.  You've done this before, you have the tools and can do it again.  Just a few small tweaks to your eating habits should help.

Or if you are like me (all or nothing) you might want to do a week or two of shakes, soups, low cal etc. to get control of things again. I've spent the weekend getting my head around the idea and tomorrow I take control again.

And it's ok, if we slip up and eat something a bit bad we don't have to eat the whole tub (I'm thinking ice cream - it's summer here) we can put it away and get back to basics again.

Wanna join me on a mini detox/shakes/low cal type thingy ??

Cheers
Tara

Do you need an adjustment? After 2 vacations this past summer, I gained about 10 lbs. I got a small fill, and went back to eating the right foods, and I lost that 10 plus 4 more within a month. Good Luck!

no i dont want another fill right now. i feel i am tight enough and since we are leaving soon for a vacation am not willing to risk being too tight in another country far from my doctor. i think -/i know i need to get out my living after weight loss cookbook. when i uses it previously the weight came off well. yup, have just gotten into those bad old habits again. well enough, i can do this/ i will do this. pity mood over.

I gained 10 lb last year eating x-mas cookies. This year I didn't bake. You can do this!

I'm there too. Too much cooking and baking, and eating the wrong stuff. Sugar is so addictive, and I have been craving the salty stuff too. I'm turning it around as of this week. The other bad part is how sluggish eating that way makes you feel. Turning up the exercise is next.

I'm joining with you all in detoxing. I'm coming up this week for my 1 yr. and when I went last week to the doctor he wanted to give me the 1/2 fill he removed last month after that fill. it was so tight I couldn't ge****er and my meds down and he removed half. I refused last week and will do this slow process by cutting down my calories. I haven't lost in the past few months. I haven'[t gained either. Just up and down.  I don't excercise to much due to  past spin surgeries so its all diet.  Good luck and wish us all down 10 lbs. in 21 days which will be New Years Eve...Sounds good...

i downloaded a free app on my notebook called         my fitness pal       and just love it.  i enter what i ate and it does all the usual stuff most other similar apps do, however it also tells me what i will weight in say 5 weeks time if i continue to eat these calories. its very easy to use. i think you all might like it, so please check it out. ITS FREE!!!

Hiya Girls,

Sandra,
In the past I have used Calorie King but I'm off to have a look at My Fitness Pal now, thanks (gosh I don't actually have to do any fitness work do I ??)   It's just sooooo humid here today. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. lol.

It's lunchtime here so I'm having a veggie and fruit juice. I haven't worked out the calories yet but it's probably got 3 serves of veggies and 1.5 serves of fruit.

I have also discovered that vegies as a juice are pretty good but I DO NOT like beets. Ewwww !!  But  I will keep experimenting.

Spudzy,
I like your thinking about dropping 10lbs by NYE. That is totally do-able.

I'm participating in a Goal Weight by Goal Date here on an Aussie forum and according to what I entered there in September I need to lose 7 KILOS  by then. Giggle - well I can dream.

Hmmm so I'm off to plan what to do with my veggies for dinner.

Cheers
Tara
